Former Detroit Pistons big man Bill Laimbeer seems to have an obvious choice for the all-time best player between LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
Talking on ESPN’s “First Take”, Laimbeer picked James over Jordan without any hesitation. Laimbeer felt that LeBron’s ability to mix with his teammates gave him the edge over Jordan.
“I’m very vocal on this. I think LeBron is the best player who has ever played the game,” Laimbeer said. “He’s 6-foot-8, 285 pounds, runs like the wind, jumps out of the gym, and more importantly when he came into league from day one, he knew how to involve his teammates to win. And that’s something that Jordan had to learn for a long time.”

LeBron James has fewer championships but is a better player feels Laimbeer
Over his illustrious career, Jordan has won six NBA Championships and five MVP awards. James, on the other hand, has three Championships to his name. While Laimbeer acknowledged Jordan’s Championship record, he felt James was better as a player.
“Now, if you go by championships obviously Michael Jordan has more championships, but I think LeBron in any generation would be doing what he’s doing right now all these years,” he said. “And I think at the end of the day, I firmly believe that he’s the best basketball player in the history of the game.”

At 35, James continues to deliver at the top level. He was leading the Los Angeles Lakers along with Anthony Davis prior to the league’s suspension. The Lakers, in their quest for the first Championship in 10 years, were on top of the Western Conference with 49 wins.
James might still play for a few more years and add to his accolades taking a few numbers closer to Jordan’s.
