Winning the NBA Championship last season was very important for LeBron James. Not only because the franchise hadn’t won the title for a decade, but also to put an end to everyone doubting his abilities. Now, he is another step closer to winning as many titles as the legend they compare him to, Michael Jordan. However, the man James played against in the finals has very high regard for him.

Tyler Herro left his mark as a rookie in the Miami Heat. His relationship with Jimmy Butler and stellar performances made a vast difference in taking the Heat deep into the playoffs.

If it weren’t for his career-high 37 points in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics, Miami might have never progressed to the NBA finals.

The Lakers were an unmatched team in the last campaign. But despite suffering from many injuries, the Heat gave a very tough competition to the purple and gold. So much that the Lakers’ fans were actually worried there for a second about Miami stealing their win away from them.

However, nobody could stand in the way of LeBron’s determination. In fact, even though Herro has a dominant player like Butler on his team, he still thinks James is the boss of all.

Came up short against LeBron James

Herro told ‘The Players Tribune,’ “If the NBA was a video game, LeBron is like the final boss. That’s probably how I’d sum up the end of our season, I guess. It’s like — on one level, it was a failure for sure. There’s a culture here and we own it. Our goal is to win championships. And we came up empty.”

The rookie indirectly said that James is like a one-man army and that the entire team couldn’t handle a player like him. “But on another level….. man. That was an insane run. We played our hearts out. We beat some really good teams. And then we just fell a little short vs. the final boss.”

It won’t be surprising if James goes for a repeat in the 2020-21 campaign. The Lakers had a spectacular offseason and made so many moves to form a roster that won’t make them wait another decade for their next title. As long as they have LeBron, the hopes of a second consecutive title don’t seem far-fetched at all.
