Rudy Gobert was the first coronavirus case in NBA

The news of the league’s suspension came simultaneously with the NBA‘s first positive coronavirus case- Gobert, followed by teammate Donovan Mitchell. Later, Detroit Pistons’ Christian Wood became the third positive case before Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers also confirmed positive cases in their respective teams.

The increasing cases meant that the league will have to wait before they start the season again. In an interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said that they hope to resume at least some part of the remaining season.

I think I said last Thursday not less than 30 days, just to give some guidance to our teams and our players, but at this point, I really don’t know,” Silver said during a rather long interview.
