The NBA is on a standstill due to the complications caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Rudy Gobert, who plays for the Utah Jazz, was tested positive for the virus on March 11. This made the NBA suspend the league immediately.
Gobert was the first NBA player to test positive for the virus. The 27-year-old was tested positive just two days after he mockingly touched every mic in a post-game conference. This incident caused outrage among many in the league.

Donovan Mitchell, his teammate also tested positive for the virus. It hasn’t been confirmed if it was Gobert who passed it on to his teammate.

Earlier, the news was buzzing around that Mitchell was certain that he had contracted the virus from his teammate and he was very upset about it.
Many anonymous sources chipped in information about their relationship and said, “It doesn’t appear salvageable.”
The Utah Jazz management had also released a statement saying “Their relationship will improve over time.”

From his lines, one can assume that Gobert and Mitchell have continued to talk on good-terms. Or you can also assume they never had a misunderstanding in the first place. He claimed that the media has been gathering all the information, but has not been delivering reality through it.
If the season resumes, the duo would have to play together once more. For that they need to go back to being how they were. The Jazz stand fourth in the Western Conference table and look close to booking a playoffs berth. The team would require maximum output from their players and a smooth rhythm to progress forward in the league.
Both players are now cleared of the virus. But the risk still remains that they could have given it to someone else.
