For the world, Kobe Bryant passed away on January 26th, 2020. But for his wife, Vanessa, her world passed away that unfortunate day. In the blink of an eye, one of the luckiest women on the planet lost her husband and her daughter. All she now has are the beautiful memories of the two gems that she can cherish forever.
Vanessa is well aware that the fans can never get enough of her love story with the NBA legend. Bryant-heads will always welcome a deeper insight into his life with open arms. So Vanessa makes it a point to always share something to mark the special moments in her storied life with Kobe.
Very recently, the 38-YO posted on Instagram about the very first day when the two icons met each other and fell in love. Yes, just like a fairy tale, it was a “Love at first sight” for the two.
They met on November 27th, 1999, when The Black Mamba was just 3-YO in the NBA. At that point in time, Kobe was becoming a key Lakers player who was still allegedly trying his hands at the art of rapping, while being on a professional contract with the NBA.
Coincidentally, this year marks 21 years into their relationship and that began when Kobe had just turned 21 in August 1999.
Kobe surely did not become a rapper, but he definitely did wrap the young Vanessa into his arms and made her his own. The pictures from their younger days speak about a lovely couple that was in awe of each other.
The couple got married in April 2001, almost a year after Kobe won his first-ever NBA trophy. One can very convincingly believe that Vanessa brought luck among endless other things into the life of a young Kobe.
The couple saw some tough days because of a series of controversies surrounding the Lakers’ legend, but they never let them affect their relationship.
On November 28th, 2019, exactly two months before his untimely demise, Kobe had posted about the completion of two decades with the ‘date’ of his life.
He had beautifully written, “On this day 20 years ago I met my best friend, my Queen @vanessabryant I decided to take her on a date to Disneyland tonight to celebrate old school style (pre 4princesses) I love you my mamacita per sempre”
The last phrase meant, “Beautiful Momma forever.” Such a post can bring tears to eyes when someone looks at it from a point of view that they’ll never again go to Disneyland together. However, we’re sure the Black Mamba in his heaven-land is very happy to see how a brave Vanessa is putting up with life.
