With the COVID-19 pandemic still very much at its peak, the NBA is going to continue to ensure that all safety protocols are met. Amidst all of these rules, there was a new one on dress codes. The Warriors’ head coach couldn’t help but a dig at this.

For many years, NBA coaches had a strict dress code that involved a sport coat. However, when the Bubble situation was introduced, this rule was put on hold and coaches were given permission to be more comfortable and wear polos instead.

The coaches liked this new rule and with the new season just around the corner, voted to bring back the polos this season. The only part of their dress code that is compulsory is wearing a mask. Steve Kerr did not miss this opportunity and mocked his associate coach. In fact, his entire take on this new rule was hilarious.

Steve Kerr will miss out on showing off his new suits

When Kerr was asked about his thoughts on this subject, he sarcastically said, “First, I’m devastated at the news. I had my brand new line of suits that’s coming out, actually. So my marketing team is gonna be disappointed that we’re not gonna be able to put those on display during games. It’s a shame. My brand’s gonna take a hit. But I’m confident through some other social media exploits I can get my name and face out there a little more. And attract the attention that I’m seeking.”

Warriors’ associate coach Mike Brown is known to be quite fashionable. Kerr joked about this and said, “I think Mike is gonna buy even more shoes. And even more colored eye glasses so that the shoes and the glasses match. But Mike is devastated that he’s gonna have to wear the same stuff that the rest of us are. It’s really gonna be a blow to his ego.”

Kerr did not stop there. Talking about the other staff members, he continued, “I’m being serious now. Part of the league’s agreement is that if a staff is going to wear the polos, then everybody’s gotta wear the same one. So that’s what we’re gonna do.”

Well, one can only wait to see which polo shirt the two choose to wear. The Warriors are up against the Denver Nuggets in their first pre-season match.
