The NBA has finally returned. After day one of the scrimmage match grabbed all the headlines, day two also lived up to the hype. The biggest fixture from yesterday was Dallas Mavericks playing the Los Angeles Lakers. They weren’t favored to win. However, the Mavs came out with a 108-104 victory over the Lakers.

Seth Curry stole the show with his shooting going a perfect 8/8 which included six three-pointers. Along with him, Boban Marjanovic also caught the headlines. With 17 points, he was the second-highest points getter for the Mavericks, and he also racked up 13 boards.
The highlight of the game was his effortless bullying of Dwight Howard. Without even jumping, he blocked Howard twice as the Lakers center tried to score over the 7’4″ Serbian. He also channeled his inner-sharpshooter as he made a three-pointer in the fourth quarter.

Good start for Dallas Mavericks
Despite it being a scrimmage game, winning against LeBron James and Anthony Davis is a morale booster, without a doubt. They are a below-average defensive team and rank at the bottom half of team defensive ratings. So they rely on outscoring their opponents. And with some excellent shooting, they managed to do that.
Their upcoming superstar, Luka Doncic, picked up from where he had left. He scored 14 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out five dimes for a complete performance. He also had his trademark step-back three while being guarded by Anthony Davis.

Kristaps Porzingis, the other star in Dallas, had a rather quiet game with just eight points, two rebounds, and one assist. The Mavericks will not only be relying on Luka but Kristaps also when playoffs hit. His chemistry with Luka lights up the court, and they will be the one to look out for in the playoffs.
The Mavericks will next face the Indiana Pacers on July 26th before wrapping it up with a final scrimmage against the Philadelphia 76ers on July 28th. After a three-year absence, the Mavericks will finally be back in the playoffs and will be hoping to upset some of the higher-seeded teams.
