McGee has certainly learned the art of vlogging. He was incredibly active inside the bubble and he seems to be continuing with it during the offseason as well. The most recent video of his is a heartwarming one, as he decided to surprise his maid on her 35th birthday.
Life is all about giving back to the ones who help you out, and McGee is extremely generous in that regard. The video begins with his routine cereal breakfast, after which he goes to the nearby ‘Ralphs’ to get some pastry.

Upon reaching the spot, McGee was left clueless due to the overwhelming choices of cakes that were present. A quick call to his business manager made McGee aware that his maid Maritza liked chocolate cakes.
After getting the cake and a bottle of Tequila to celebrate, the Lakers player headed home to organize the surprise. And much to his delight, Maritza genuinely was unaware of the surprise and she was overjoyed with McGee’s kindness.

What about McGee’s future with the Lakers?
JaVale McGee has been a Laker since 2018. The former Wizards player signed a two-year deal with the team last year, with the second year being a player option. Thus, it is up to the 7’0” big man to decide his NBA future.
McGee averaged 12.0 PPG (career-high) with the Lakers in his first year with the team. However, the figure dropped a bit low during the 2019/20 season, but he averaged only 16.6 minutes a game, a number that dropped along with his point average.

McGee fit-well with the Lake Show as a role player and performed his duties when asked to. He would probably look to take up the player option with the 2020 champions and play one more year.

McGee would undoubtedly be willing to perform the same role with the Lakers to help them to another championship triumph. However, if he decides to opt-out of his contract, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent which opens up new avenues for the Michigan native.
