NBA fans were quick to flood Twitter with memes about the incident. Here is how twitter reacted to Dwight Howard unintentionally causing a delay:

This isn’t the first time in his career that Dwight has caused damage to the rim. Back in 2009, he brought down the shot clock with a thunderous dunk.

Anthony Davis was quick to ask the officials to stop the play and fix it. Danny Green and LeBron James were assessing the damage done to the rim.

Lakers were still chasing the game and got a much-needed break due to Howard’s stunt. However, the break was not enough for them to overcome Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers.

A below-average three-point shooting performance held them down and ultimately cost them an important game. Luckily, the Lakers can still redeem themselves in the upcoming games. The task at hand remains to improve the three-point percentage for them.

On the other hand, each player on the Blazers roster is getting the job done. Carmelo Anthony, CJ McCollum, Gary Trent Jr., and Jusuf Nurkic support cast played a vital role in the victory. If they keep this up, the Lakers and LeBron’s legacy might get tainted real soon.
