There is always room for debate when it comes to the GOAT in the NBA. The list of candidates who qualify are mind-boggling. So many legends, and people always want one player to be crowned the greatest of them all. The spectacle of the debate always revolves around Michael Jordan and LeBron James. However, one man who cannot be discarded from Top 3, is Kobe Bryant.

The mamba through his impressive achievements and extraordinary talent has made himself eligible to slither his way into the GOAT debate. He just cannot be ignored. Above all, his attitude is the main attraction. The five-time champion always deems himself the best, even though he was inspired by Jordan in his childhood.

Kobe Bryant made an appearance on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden,’ a program that always produces hilarious moments. He visited the set last year and his co-guest was actress Cara Delevingne.

Bryant donned a maroon suit and was challenged by James Corden to answer his trick questions or pick and eat a disgusting food item that was placed on the table. He started by asking a very controversial question right at the top.

“I would like you to rank these basketball players from best to worst,” said Corden. He listed the names of Kobe, LeBron and MJ as the three players and wanted the Lakers legend to rank them. The crowd went wild with cheers and applause as Corden named his question.

The funny segment gave Kobe an ultimatum. Answer the question or have a bite of a cow’s tongue. Yes, a solid cow’s tongue was placed right on the table. The question was also a very tricky one as it had MJ’s name on it. The audience wanted controversy. They cheered him to answer the question, while Kobe giggled in confusion.

Fearing a debate that would arise, Kobe stated he was not going to answer it, instead he was going to have a bite at the cow’s tongue. As he picked the thick tongue in his hand, Corden persuaded him to answer the question, telling that it was a pretty straight forward one.

Unable to deal with the solid tongue in his hand, he decided to give an answer regardless of the spark that would arise. “All right. Fine. I’m the best, Michael’s the second-best, LeBron’s the third-best.” This sent waves around the set, and the crowd frantically started doing the MVP chant.

Even if Kobe may have answered the question in order to get rid of the disgusting cow tongue from his hand, he put himself first. It showed he never lost belief in himself. Though he emulated Michael Jordan growing up, in his mind, he was always the best, no matter how many players come and go.
