“You All Keep Rubbing It On My Face”: Former Rival of Michael Jordan Not Interested in Watching The Last Dance

The spectacular efforts of Michael Jordan with the North Carolina basketball team earned him the third pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. The Chicago Bulls picked him up, and the rest as we know, is history. The very next year, the top prospect of the draft, was catching everybody’s attention. He was strong, he was tall and he could toy around with his defenders like they meant nothing. The young chap’s name was Patrick Ewing and the New York Knicks pounced on him with their first pick.
Patrick Ewing was dubbed the next big thing when he came into the NBA. His physicality and brutal gameplay was met and lost by many teams in the league. However, one man altered his career like no one would expect, and his name was Michael Jeffery Jordan.
The 57-year-old recently joined ‘The Dan Patrick Show,’ where he revealed he is not watching the much-hyped ‘The Last Dance.’ Ewing even had a solid reason to state his decision to skip the ten-part docuseries that is trending all over the world.

Ewing does not want to relive his failures against Michael Jordan
The Hall of Famer made it clear that he does not intend to board the same train which gave him bitter encounters in the past. Speaking to Dan Patrick, he did not hold back his emotions when it came to mentioning ‘His Airness.’
“I had to live through that,” Ewing told Patrick. “I had to live through him and all the battles that we had to go through. And now y’all have a documentary to keep rubbing it in my face.

We agree with you, Ewing. Not many of us have been on-the-court against Jordan, facing his wrath, when he scores 40, 50 points in a game. However, the former Knicks star did admit to watching some of it. “I watch a little of it, then I shut it off to go do other things,” he said. Ewing further reasoned why he doesn’t watch it. “I don’t need to watch. I know he’s great.”
His logic here is completely fair. The Bulls and Michael Jordan were overthrowing their opponents one after the other in the 90s. The New York Knicks were one among them. Ewing and Jordan have met five times in the playoffs, and the latter emerged on top, every single time.

The recent episodes of ‘The Last Dance’ contain the most grueling playoff series between the Bulls and the Knicks from 1993. MJ faced tremendous pressure after he went gambling in Atlantic City, after a defeat in Game 1.
Nevertheless, the Bulls fought their way back against a team that used extreme physicality to contain Jordan, Pippen, and the rest. Their rivalry is one of the best ones from the 90s, as the Bulls proved to be a roadblock each year for a talented Knicks team that never attained its destiny.
