Following this, Shaquille O’Neal joined Miami Heat in the Summer of 2004, transforming them from a good team to title contenders. This year was also when Dorell Wright was also the 19th overall pick by the Miami Heat.

We can say that Wright was then under Shaq’s wing, learning everything he could about the game from one of the best players of that era. In Shaq’s second season with Miami Heat, they could clinch a title. Although he only stayed with Miami for three years, Wright continued to play for them for six years and became an integral part of the roster.

On ‘The Players Tribune’ Text Message Talk Show, Wright and Shaq revealed their favorite moments with their former team. Wright told Shaq that his most treasured moment was with their then head coach, Pat Riley. He reminded Shaq that Riley had this habit of reviewing the games’ clips and inquiring players about their mistakes.

After a bad loss, Riley had asked Wright to leave the locker room because he was laughing at one of those sessions. However, Shaq had asked him not to go anywhere.

Shaq’s story was even more unexpected. He narrated, “My favorite moment was you tryna fight me naked in the shower and Udonis didn’t want to break us up.”
