He dropped 71 points in the game tonight with 8 rebounds, along with 11 assists. But he ensured that he kept the focus on Damar Hamlin, at the end of the night.

He joined NBA champion, LeBron James, and NFL star, Patrick Mahomes in sending prayers to Damar Hamlin, who was rushed to the hospital mid-game.

Donovan Mitchell wishes Hamlin a speedy recovery

Just as Mitchell was about to wrap up, he took time to show support for the Buffalo Bills player, Damar Hamlin. “Oh, I just want to say. Prayer’s up for the Bills’ safety“. He said that though he hadn’t seen the play, he had heard about it. Donovan Mitchell admitted that his whole team in the locker room has been praying for him. “We want to wish him the best, and pray everything goes well“, he added.

LeBron James also extended his support following his game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets. He said that his “thoughts and super prayers” are with Hamlin, his family, and the NFL “brotherhood”. He added that the safety of the players was vital for any sport. LeBron tweeted, “Praying for you kid“.

Prayers pile on for Damar Hamlin

The game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals came to a gruesome halt after the Bills player collapsed on the field. It was reported that Damar Hamlin was given CPR and immediate medical care.

Hamlin was still considered critical and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Many of his teammates were inconsolable after they huddled around for Hamlin, praying for his recovery.
