NFL Legend Told Michael Jordan He Would “Beat His A**” If He Played for Chicago Bulls

When The Last Dance was released, many people got a glimpse of Michael Jordan’s legendary career on their screens. One of those was MJ’s close and lifelong friend, Roy Green. He and Michael have been friends ever since the Bulls drafted MJ in 1984. Over 35 years of friendship and countless stories between them.

One of the amazing stories is about them golfing together. For decades, Michael has loved the sport of golf and he has played it whenever he is not playing basketball. He is also a good friend of the legendary Tiger Woods. Recently, Roy Green recalled a story about him, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and Tiger Woods playing golf. MJ also once accompanied Woods for a golf session years ago in the Wachovia Golf Championship Pro-Am event.

“MJ and Tiger are very, very similar personalities. So their bets were totally different from what I was making. So on almost every hole, they’d say, ‘Roy, that’s fine. Get out of the way, man.’ They’d just give me mine, because they’re trying to make about $1,000 or something, and I’m here at $25 or $30. — So I’d win almost every hole because they didn’t care.” Roy said about how the two legends had similar personalities. Green also told how he and MJ were similar in terms of personalities and their friendship.

Roy Green revealed how he and Michael Jordan always talked “crap”

Roy Green explained how and why MJ and he were such good friends over the years. He said that their personalities clicked because they both liked to talk crap. He said, I talk a lot of crap, and MJ talks a lot of crap. There have been moments where he’d try to test me, and I can get at it really quick. I’ve told him before, ‘You know what, man? I’m glad I wasn’t a basketball player, because if I’d have been your teammate, I’d have gotten released, because I would have whooped the a** of the best player.”

The duo first met in 1984. He first experienced the young MJ in action in a 3v3 game for the Coca Cola endorsement deal. MJ chose a comparatively weaker team for himself and beat the team with Patrick Ewing and Dominique Wilkins. “That was the first time I met MJ, but it told me all I needed to know about him and what he’s about. — He had this thing that every time he stepped on the court, he wanted them to know, ‘I am the best.’ — We talked a lot afterwards. Stayed in the room and had our Coca-Colas, and we stayed in touch and said we’d hang together again.” said Roy Green. The two have been friends for a long time and know each other very well.
