Prior to their recent matchup against the Warriors, the San Antonio Spurs faced off against the New York Knicks for the second time this season. The Spurs star rookie Victor Wembanyama once again came out on top in leading his team’s offensive effort. While one of his teammates barely managed to cross the 20 points threshold, Wembanyama went ahead and added 40 points, 20 rebounds and 7 assists during the game. The sudden rush of emotions and excitement resulted in an unusual incident during the game, as the French player denied the ball to be taken from Jalen Brunson and ended up throwing it into the stands right as the buzzer sounded. This action resulted in him receiving a fine of $25,000.

Sports Journalist Tom Orsborn recently took to his official X account to highlight Wembanyama’s statement in the aftermath of the same. He quoted the player saying “I remember players being fined for this, but they always threw it in a bad way. I threw it to…please somebody. It’s not like I was trying to hurt anybody.”

This is a developing story.
