The infamous All-Star Game in 2007 featuring LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal, and many more famous names was one of a kind. The game between Team Giannis and Team LeBron was one of the most entertaining matches of the NBA. The star power and the ambiance itself was one of a kind that night.
Set in Los Angeles, this was the first time that an All-Star match, basketball’s biggest spectacle, took place outside a basketball hosting city of the country. Thomas and Mack center hosting the weekend’s game has now come far as we all look back at the “Anything can happen” game of that decade.
The game was set for a large stage occupying more than 15,000 people and the atmosphere stood out, but not in a positive way. There was loud cussing, they were loudly using the N-word, smoking lots of marijuana, talking disrespectfully of anybody they felt like. You just felt like anything could happen.” Said the editor of Sun-Times, Jason Whitlock.
Apart from this, the game was a highly entertaining affair as few of the players had a dance-off. Shaquille O’Neal, Dwight Howard, and LeBron James, all three took to the court and made it their dance floor. Their locking and popping made the atmosphere around them lighter. Apart from adding the humorous part, their dancing skills were on point.
Shaq went on to breakdance as he twerked and rocked the floor that day. LeBron did his own version as he too didn’t shy off from there. Dwight Howard joined them both as the trio went on to dance and laugh their steps away.
The match ended with the Eastern team (Team LeBron) losing the match by a score of 132-155. LeBron got 28 points in that game but the MVP, Kobe Bryant bagged the most (31). The stats of most of the individuals were impressive as they performed well in the All-Star game.
The game was a mixed affair as it had everything. It proved that Anything can happen.
