The Atlanta Hawks have entered the pool and are looking around for a suitable center. According to ESPN, they have their eyes on Oklahoma City Thunder’s center, Steven Adams.

Steven Adams has been floating around the NBA rumour mill for a long time as a possible trade candidate, but the Oklahoma City Thunder have been unable to find a suitable deal for the big man. Apparently the Thunder ‘are seeking a draft pick, a young player and salary relief’ in return for the 26-year-old.

“They set the price too high. That’s what you’d expect and maybe it will drop as the year goes on. It’s tough to take on his contract (two years, $53 million remaining) and give up picks and players. Most teams are pretty well set at the centre spot now, you have a big guy and you have your small lineup. You can’t just take on a contract like that. There isn’t a big number of teams who could take him.”, an NBA executive said.

Adams would certainly help make the Hawks’ roster strong. He is averaging 11.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. His experience and defensive presence could provide Atlanta with a major boost. This would help the squad become more competitive in the future.
