NBA Trade Rumours: Hawks know What it Takes to Land Andre Drummond

Atlanta Hawks reportedly know the price to sign to Detroit Pistons centre Andre Drummond.
The Athletic reported that Drummond could already have had Drummond if they were willing to give away a first-round draft pick as a part of the deal.
Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores had previously talked about wanting to keep their All-Star Centre, Drummond. “I’ve said it many times: He’s very underrated in a lot of ways for what he does, and culturally he’s been so good for this team, just in terms of his attitude, and just watching him really grow up. I met him when he was 18,” he had said in October.

However, ESPN has recently reported that the Pistons could use him as a trade asset and they were also in serious talks with the Hawks. The deal, as per the latest reports, broke down as Atlanta were unwilling to give away a draft pick.
Andre Drummond could be good, but could be bad
Drummond has come into the 2019/20 NBA season having led the league in rebounds in the last four seasons. In the season, he has averaged a career-high 17.8 points and 16.2 rebounds per game. He would make a great addition to the Hawks, who are currently struggling on both ends of the court.

But the downside for the Hawks in the deal would be the prospect of Drummond leaving them next season. Atlanta’s 8-30 record is currently the worst in the league and there do not seem to be any realistic chances of making it to the play-offs. Drummond meanwhile, can become a free agent at the end of the season if he declines his player option for the next season.
