The Los Angeles Lakers took on the New Orleans Pelicans in a battle for the 10th seed on Sunday. LeBron James returned to the lineup after missing the game against the Philadelphia 76ers. And he reached another scoring milestone.
LeBron became only the second player to cross 37K points in NBA history. He had passed Karl Malone last week for the second-most points and this week he crossed the 37000 mark. He is also the youngest to reach that mark. Additionally, LeBron is also the youngest to reach 10k,20k, and 30k points. And it’s only a matter of time before he crosses Kareem Abdul Jabbar for most points in NBA history.

The Lakers lose again despite LeBron putting in 39 points
The Lakers were hoping that they could get back on track with a win against the Pelicans. And they looked like they meant business as they started off hot. They took an 8 point lead at the end of the first quarter. By the end of the second, that lead ballooned to 20. But as usual, the Lakers let the lead slip and they allowed the other team to come back into the game. The Lakers blew a 23 point lead, and they ended up losing by 8. That is a 31 point turnaround.

LeBron James led the scoring as usual with 39 points, but there was a major cause of concern as LeBron rolled his ankle in the second quarter. He ended up playing out the rest of the game, but he said he felt horrible after the game. Russell Westbrook continued his good run of form and Malik Monk poured in 23 points. For the Pelicans, it was a combined effort, as five players scored more than 15 points, with Brandon Ingram leading the way with 26.
