Conor McGregor suffered a complete ACL tear and faced other ligaments tear in his left knee after his win over Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26. The rising superstar took inspiration from the NBA legend Kobe Bryant during his recovery.
Initially, believed to be a knee sprain, came out to be a complete ACL tear after the MRI results.

On Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour show, McGregor answered whether he knew about Bryant’s injury, who successfully came back from the same injury not long ago. He said, “Yeah, I [was] only talking to my manager today about that, literally about 20 minutes before our phone call. I was talking about Kobe Bryant’s story.”
“Kobe was at the same rehab place as mine, on that same antigravity treadmill working to get back to fitness. So, of course, I take inspiration from that, you know what I mean,” added the Irishman.
“We all go through ups and downs, you know what I mean. Unfortunately, mine happened earlier in my career. Look, I will be back Ariel. All I can do is get to work, and that’s what I’m gonna do,” concluded McGregor.
‘The Notorious‘ got the surgery from one of the best surgeons and posted about the same on his Twitter.

Earlier, Dr. Neal ElAttrache had operated on Kobe Bryant’s Achilles surgery and Tom Brady‘s and Georges St-Pierre‘s knee surgery as well.

Conor McGregor made a phenomenal comeback in Dublin
After being out of the action for nearly a year, the Irish superstar headlined UFC Fight Night 46: McGregor vs. Brandao in just his third UFC fight. The O2 Dublin arena was electric when ‘The Notorious’ walked out for the main event. With an audience of 9,500, McGregor made a splash with his first main event.

Not only did ‘The Notorious’ made a huge impact with the audience and excitement he brought, but also performed well inside the octagon. The Irish superstar knocked out Diego Brandao in the very first round.
