MMA Journalist Ariel Helwani Snubs LeBron James & Kevin Durant for Boston Celtics’ Superstar Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum’s performance against the Brooklyn Nets had the MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani, put him in his top five list of current NBA players. Interestingly, he put LeBron James and Kevin Durant out of the list to keep the Celtic star.

With Tatum’s exceptional performance, the Boston Celtics defeated the Brooklyn Nets (109-103). The stellar performance saw Tatum score 39 points in the match.

One of the most accomplished journalists in the MMA space and a big NBA fan, Ariel Helwani”s comment that Tatum is top five, had one fan presenting the journalist with his list of top five fighters. This list included–Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokić, and LeBron James.

Helwani was not happy with the snub of Tatum from the list, hence he replied to the tweet; He said, “If this is your so called current top 5, and im starting a team today I’m picking Tatum over Lebron and KD and not thinking twice.

Even Paul Pierce delivered a controversial opinion on Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum.

Anyhow, in the match, Tatum had outscored Brooklyn Nets duo Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant (32 points).

LeBron James pulled off the feat in January 2012 at 27, whereas a Boston player did it three years prior to him in March 2022.

The 24-year-old has spent five seasons in the NBA, whereas James is at 19 and still going strong. Thus, it is not easy to compare the two in such a regard. However, the constant performer, Tatum, is having the season of his life and he, occasionally, is outperforming ‘King James’. Yet he has a long way to get to ‘King James’.
