LeBron James is just as affected by hip-hop artist Takeoff’s sudden demise as everyone else. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar wore an outfit that was similar to one of Takeoff’s previous looks. King James was a fan of the Migos group and paid tribute to the young rapper in his way. He wore the outfit before the Lakers’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on November 6, 2022.

Takeoff was a member of the hip-hop group Migos. He was the youngest of the three-member group. The other two were his uncle, Quavo, and his cousin, Offset. According to reports, Takeoff was at a private party held in a bowling alley in Houston. He was accompanied by fellow Migos member, Quavo.

Following an altercation between a large group at the party, Takeoff fell victim to a shooting incident. The 28-year-old rapper was declared dead at the scene.

NBA world joins LeBron James in expressing sorrow

Several Hollywood artists gave their condolences and expressed their sorrow upon hearing the news. One of them was NBA superstar, LeBron James. Evidently, the Los Angeles Lakers forward changed his Instagram DP to a photo of the rapper. It was a picture from when Takeoff attended a birthday party for Pierre Thomas, CEO of Quality Control Music in June 2022. King James recently replicated Takeoff’s entire look as he wore a black suit, complete with a diamond-encrusted neckpiece. The four-time NBA champion posted a picture of himself in his pregame outfit along with that of Takeoff. James uploaded the post on November 6.

“If you know me any, then you know how much I love @yrntakeoff!! Still doesn?t feel real to me! Rest in Paradise Rocket Man,” wrote LeBron in the caption.

Shortly afterward, NBA Central reposted the picture of both James and Takeoff on Twitter. Along with LeBron, fans too came forth to grieve Takeoff’s unfortunate death.

The Lakers faced the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena. While his tribute sure did touch fans’ hearts, his team’s performance on the night did not. The Lakers lost yet another game as they continue their poor run so far this season. The Cavaliers beat LeBron’s Lakers by 114-100. The Lakers are now 2-7 for the season while the Cavaliers are now 8-1.
