What Is the March Madness Music Festival?

The March Madness Music Festival is an annual live music event held alongside the NCAA Men’s Final Four. The festival is a blend of two worlds, high-stakes basketball and live music. While teams battle it out on the court for a national title, fans outside the arena experience a different kind of energy, with performances by major artists across multiple genres. It’s designed to extend the excitement of March Madness beyond the games and to create a city-wide celebration that brings together sports fans, music lovers, and even casual attendees.

The NCAA organizes the event in collaboration with major corporate partners like AT&T, Coca-Cola, and Capital One. And these partnerships are a key reason why the festival is completely free for fans. That makes it one of the most accessible large-scale music events tied to a major sporting occasion.

Over the years, the March Madness Music Festival has grown into a major tradition of the Final Four weekend. It typically spans three days, with each day featuring a themed concert lineup and headline performances from globally recognized artists. The setup is usually outdoors, which creates an open, festival-style environment where thousands of fans can gather, enjoy live music, and soak in the atmosphere.

In essence, it’s not just an add-on to the tournament. It is a central part of the overall experience.

Where Is the March Madness 2026 Music Festival Held?

The 2026 March Madness Music Festival will take place at the American Legion Mall, a large open public space located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. This location plays a key role in the overall Final Four experience. Situated just minutes away from major venues like Lucas Oil Stadium, the mall becomes a central gathering point where fans can move seamlessly between basketball events and live entertainment. It essentially turns downtown Indianapolis into a connected festival zone throughout the weekend.

The American Legion Mall itself is designed in a way that suits large-scale outdoor events. It features expansive green spaces, wide walkways, and a long stretch of open ground that can accommodate massive crowds. During the music festival, this area turns into a full concert venue. It’ll have a main stage, large viewing areas, sound systems, and event infrastructure that supports thousands of attendees at once.

Because it’s an open, centrally located venue, the atmosphere feels less restrictive than in a traditional indoor arena. Fans can arrive early, move around freely, and take in both the music and the Final Four energy.

The 2026 March Madness Music Festival will take place over three days. It’ll start from April 3 to April 5, 2026, which aligns directly with the NCAA Final Four weekend. Each day of the festival is built around a distinct theme and sponsor, with performances running from the afternoon into the night. Here’s how the full schedule is structured:

  • Friday, April 3 (AT&T Block Party): The festival kicks off on Friday with the AT&T Block Party. The event kicks off at 4:30 PM  ET and concludes by 10:00 PM ET. The event will have multiple acts perform in sequence, leading up to the main headliner toward the end.
  • Saturday, April 4 (Coca-Cola LIVE): Saturday brings a longer and more packed lineup, starting from 2:30 PM ET to 10:00 PM ET. This is usually the busiest day of the festival. Performances will start earlier in the afternoon and run continuously into the night.
  • Sunday, April 5 (Capital One JamFest): The festival wraps up on Sunday with the Capital One JamFest, which kicks off at 3:00 PM ET and runs through 10:30 PM ET. The final day builds toward one of the biggest headline performances of the weekend in Post Malone.

Who Is Performing at the March Madness 2026 Music Festival?

This year’s March Madness Music Festival is loaded with a strong mix of global headliners and rising stars, who will all perform across all three days of the event. Leading the lineup this year are Twenty One Pilots, who will be headlining Friday’s AT&T Block Party, the Zac Brown Band, who will headline Saturday’s Coca-Cola LIVE, and Post Malone, who will be headlining Sunday’s Capital One JamFest.

Beyond the headliners, the festival also features a diverse supporting cast of artists performing across the three days. On Friday, for the AT&T Block Party, there will also be performances from Joey Valence & Brae at 5:15 PM ET, and Keshi at 7:00 PM ET, before the Twenty One Pilots take over the stage at 8:45.

Saturday is even filled with more performances, starting with American rapper and singer Breland at 3:15. The event then continues with Ravyn Lenae at 4:45, and Russell Dickerson at 6:15, before the Zac Brown Band takes the stage at 8:10.

On Sunday, the performance starts with American singer and songwriter Dominic Fike at 4:30, and then Megan Moroney takes the stage at 6:15. Everything leads into the closing headline performance by Post Malone, which, without doubt, will wrap everything up on a high note.

Is the March Madness Music Festival Free to Attend?

Yes, the March Madness Music Festival is completely free for fans to attend. There are no tickets or paid entry.

However, entry operates on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that while the event is free, access is not unlimited. Once the venue reaches its capacity, it will stop admitting attendees. For that reason, fans should plan to arrive early, especially on peak days like Saturday and Sunday. Also, there is no guarantee of re-entry. So, if you leave the festival grounds at any point, you may not be able to get back in if the venue has already filled up.

The NCAA can afford to keep this event free largely due to corporate sponsorship support. Major brands like AT&T, Coca-Cola, and Capital One partner with the NCAA to fund the festival. And these partnerships cover production costs, artist bookings, and on-site experiences.

And for fans who can’t attend in person, they can still watch the event through live streaming. The performances will be available on the NCAA’s official platforms, including NCAA.com and the March Madness Live app. In addition to the official livestreams, fans can follow the relevant NCAA accounts on Instagram and X for real-time highlights and updates throughout the three-day event.
