March 3rd will forever be inked in golden letters as Iowa’s unswerving point guard Caitlin Clark has eternalized her No.22 jersey. The iconic Hawkeye from Des Moines, Iowa is now the undisputed conqueror of the NCAA scoring charts. Two consecutive free throws just before half-time on a sold-out Sunday afternoon tumbled Pete Maravich’s 54-year-old record and elevated Clark to alpine heights. Following this, Clark has rightfully been receiving love and appreciation from all corners.
Yesterday, espnW shared an Instagram post to celebrate Clark’s accomplishment. The post featured a Nike advertisement where a full-length poster of Caitlin Clark’s jumper is hanging on a building. A block away, Nike stuck another poster with a hoop and a ball going in, along with the words “This was never a long shot.” Consequently, 4x NBA champion Draymond Green wasted no time sharing the post on his story. Captioned, “Congrats @caitlinclark22.” along with two ‘GOAT’ emojis, Green put forth his admiration of Clark.

As it turns out, Draymond Green is not the only person who showed their appreciation in this manner. American philanthropist and Kobe Bryant‘s wife Vanessa Bryant was the next in line to extend her congratulations to the 22-year-old.
She went on and shared a post of nicekicks and nicekickshoops on her story. The post says, “This was never a long shot. Caitlin Clark becomes the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer in the Nike Kobe 6 ‘POP’.” Seemingly, Clark broke the record in her Nike Kobe 6 Protro which served as a perfect occasion for the sports brand to highlight their association with the Iowa point guard.
Given the magnitude of the occasion, these icons are certainly not the only ones who were delighted about Caitlin Clark’s historic night.
Sue Bird is also among those left impressed by Clark and Nike
Not only the celebrities but also Clark’s college program in Iowa also thought it would be fitting to include Nike’s ad as a part of its celebrations of her senior day. The official Instagram page shared the same picture captioned, “@nikebasketball knew this was never a long shot.”
Evidently, this compelled WNBA legend Sue Bird to applaud the reigning national player in her own unique way. She shared the post with a congratulatory message for Clark on her story which had a very interesting caption.
