The NCAA season of women’s basketball recorded one of the biggest beef in their history during the last season between the LSU Tigers’ star, Angel Reese, and the Iowa Hawkeyes star, Caitlin Clark. During the Final game for the championship title, words were exchanged between both the stars, but what caught the world’s attention was the ‘You can’t see me’ gesture by the Bayou Barbie in the final seconds of the game.

A’ja Wilson’s take
After the beef broke the internet, several fans took to social media to highlight the incident as a ‘classless’ stunt. In a recent interview with Showtime Basketball, A’ja Wilson sat down with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson as they talked about Wilson’s journey. During their conversation, Wilson was asked about her perspective when a big deal was made out of the Reese and Clark beef.

In her response, Wilson said, “I was laughing. I was like if we’re overreacting at this, Good lord! Where’s our game going.” Following this statement by Wilson, Jackson added that we as players say the worst things to white boys when we play, to which Wilson further added, “I feel like that’s like the unwritten hooper rule. So, no I was laughing, I was like it’s never that deep. But, I guess that’s when you can tell when people don’t really watch the game, they’re just there for the drama. They’re like, ‘Oh! Let me dive into this and give you my comment.’ I’m like you have never been in that situation before, but it was funny to me, I loved it.”
