LSU’s head coach, Kim Mulkey led her team on the remarkable journey. Caitlin Clark stands as a threat to LSU

College basketball will never be the same after Caitlin Clark’s legendary performance in the 2023 Women’s NCAA Tournament. Clark’s accomplishments alone are nothing short of spectacular, notwithstanding the Iowa Hawkeyes’ failure to win the national championship. She broke both men’s and women’s records with the 191 points she achieved throughout the competition.

Although Glen Rice’s 184 points in 1989 were renowned, Caitlin Clark’s scoring prowess currently tops the list of NCAA tournament records. Clark’s adaptability on the court adds to the brilliance of her play. She also showed off her playmaking skills by handing out 60 assists in total, averaging an astonishing 10 per game. This accomplishment set a new mark for assists in a single women’s tournament, narrowly missing Mark Wade’s men’s record of 61 assists set in 1987.
