Following this, one of the rising NCAA stars and LSU’s dynamic forward Angel Reese decides to extend her love and support towards the commendable efforts of Vanessa Bryant.

Angel Reese appreciates Venessa Bryant

Angel Reese recently shared a video in which she gave a special shoutout to the late Kobe Bryant and his wife Venessa. In the video, she appreciates Venessa’s amazing work with the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. Reese says, “Kobe Bryant, we really love you. We miss you so much. Venessa, you’re doing an amazing job with everything, with the Mamba, and Mambacita. We really appreciate you and we love you. Thank you for specifically reaching out to LSU and giving us all the amazing merch.” 

Apparently, LSU is one of the six schools that have partnered with the Mamba & Mambacity Sports Foundation before the start of the 2023-24 season. LSU joins the University of Connecticut, the University of Southern California, the University of Oregon, Duke University, and the University of Kentucky to honor the late 18-time NBA All-Star by participating in the “Mamba Program.” In addition to this, Reese was among the few players who decided to wear special edition Kobe Bryant and Gigi shoes throughout her campaign. Meanwhile, Nike sponsors the athletic departments of all these universities.

What do we know about the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation?

In 2020, Venessa changed the name of Kobe’s Mamba sports foundation to Mamba and Mambacita sports foundation following the unfortunate passing of her husband and their daughter Gigi. According to the company’s website, “It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating positive impact for underserved athletes and boys and girls in sports founded through the vision and loving memory of Kobe and Gianna “Gigi” Bryant.” 

There is no denying that Kobe was one of the great ambassadors of the sport. The fact that his legacy is blooming in the corridors of college basketball is an encouraging sight to witness for his fans. Moreover, the active participation of stars like Angel Reese in his foundation further speaks about the impact that this NBA legend had on basketball.
