Record-breaker Caitlin Clark’s March Madness might rage like her regular season. And that simply means rewriting the record books. As someone redefining the game itself, Clark was named the Big Ten Tournament MVP for the third consecutive tournament. She is the second player to achieve the feat since 1995 when Jantel Lavender won the MVP honors in three straight tournaments.

Listing out the players she has surpassed this season include WNBA star Megan Gustafson, 2xWNBA champion Kelsey Plum, AIAW legend Lynette Woodward, and LSU legend Pete Maravich. She’s now eyeing new milestones as March Madness is spreading its charm.

With all the milestones she has achieved in her college basketball journey of 4 years, this season can be considered her finest with back-to-back winning feats enriching her remarkable resume. However, it is not enough for the fans as they are sitting in anticipation for Clark to push a bit more while she embarks on her March Madness journey once again.

Simply put, a post by a fan has been shared on X, stating Clark’s possible accolades in the final tournament which said, “Caitlin Clark milestones to watch for in march madness – Needs 18 3-pointers for most career 3-pointers, Needs 27 assists for 3rd on all-time assists list, Needs 56 points for most points in a season, Needs 28 points for 2nd most points in a season.”

Currently, Clark has accumulated 3771 points, 944 rebounds, and 1092 assists. And, if she can score 56 points, then she will be surpassing Pearl Moore of Francis Marion, who holds the overall women’s record with 4061 points.

In the regular season, Clark has averaged 31.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game, while shooting with a field goal percentage of 46%. As a result, it is undoubtedly prevailing that Clark might just beat down a few items on that list.

Method behind the Madness 

The selections being made today hence mark the commencement of the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, aka March Madness. The Selection process will be aired by ESPN. This year’s tournament promises thrilling matchups, intense competition, and memorable moments. The First Four is set to be held on 20-21st March, with the First Round to be held on 22-23rd March.

Moving on, the Second Round will be conducted on 24-25th March, after which the winners will be competing in Sweet 16 on 29-30th March, and then will be propelled to the Elite Eight which is to be held on 31st March-1st April. Teams will then finally move to the prestigious Final Four event on 5th April, with games scheduled to be played at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET on ESPN. The event will be hosted at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

Finally, the last standing contenders will compete for the national championship title at the NCAA Championship Game on 7th April at 3 p.m. ET and will be aired on ABC network.
