Cooper Flagg officially commits to Duke Blue Devils

In a recent update, Flagg announced his commitment to one of the most dominating colleges in the NCAA, which is none other than Duke.

His commitment was revealed by the SLAM magazine, and Bryce James, the youngest son of the NBA superstar, LeBron James approved of Flagg’s commitment. James took to his Instagram stories to post a pic of Flagg that was originally posted by SLAM.

Flagg will be starting his journey at Duke from the 2024-25 season, where he will have to compete against some of the best talents in the country. Coach Jon Scheyers will be looking forward to working with a player like him and fans eagerly wait what coach Scheyers will make out of him.

Controversy surrounding Flagg’s commitment to the Devils

In the post, Flagg’s commitment to Duke was announced with a caption that said, “Pledges Allegiance To The Brotherhood.” Fans targeted the university trend for being white-dominated program. While many big names like Kyrie Irving and Grant Hill have played for Duke, the idea that it often has a mostly white basketball team continues to be a subject of debate.

Many fans predicted that Flagg will be up for some non-stop hate because of this. However, there has been no reply from either Duke, Slam, or Flagg regarding this ongoing controversy.
