The Texas Longhorns have turned out to be one of the top contenders to the Final Four. The 1986 NCAA champions have been making some serious noise in the Big 12 this season after their impressive win over UConn. Rori Harman bagged the sixth spot in the latest WCBB Top 25 player ranking. The fact that she is among the top 10 players in the country rightly justifies all the hype around her. The junior point guard first came to everyone’s attention when Schaefer asked her to switch from the defensive front and be on the offense against the Huskies. Following this, Rori made full use of this opportunity and delivered an impactful double-double. Harman finished her outing with 27 points and 13 assists and became the first player in 25 seasons to score 25 points and 10 assists against UConn. As a result, the Longhorns got the better of UConn for the first time in program history.

Head coach Vic Schaefer has earlier expressed his admiration for the talented No. 3. Praising Harman he said, “Ain’t nobody on our team play harder than Rori Harmon. She brings that to the table every day, every practice, every game, and that’s what impacts our team in such a positive way.” Rori Harman has gained the reputation of being one of the best perimeter defenders in the country. In addition to this, her mental toughness and specific aspects of offense are a nightmare to her opponents. Clearly, her maturity and dedication are the reasons behind her evolution as a player.

The 5′ 6″ guard from Houston, Texas has made some significant improvements in her numbers this season. Her effective field goal percentage is on a career-high rise from 42.7% to 52.8% this season. Moreover, Rori is currently placed in the second spot with a 7.8 assist-to-turnover ratio. Most importantly, she averages 14.1 points per game with 5.6 rebounds per game. Furthermore, her accuracy from the 3-point range is also on an exponential trajectory with 31.8% compared to last season’s 15.7.

There is no denying that such a talent is ranking so high in the top 10 best women players in the NCAA. Further, her adaptability to various positions so seamlessly makes her an opponent worthy to raise goosebumps for her competitors.
