Despite having a busier life than a bee, Caitlin Clark seems to be handling all her relationships perfectly. There are many discussions on her connections with her teammates, coaches, peers, and family. But the one rarely talked about is her relationship with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery. Since it is the talk of the town now that the Indiana Fever will definitely choose Caitlin Clark as their first pick on April 15, 2024, McCaffery is also returning to the headlines.

The former Hawkeye graduated from Iowa and moved to Indiana to work as an assistant for the Pacers. While he will have his hands full with any and every request of the coaches and the team, seems like destiny has brought them in the same space. If the Fever does go with Clark, she will have to move to Indianapolis. The same city where her long-distance boyfriend and the son of Iowa Hawkeye MBB head coach Fran McCaffery is currently residing.

While joining Indiana as her next big step in her basketball career is a bright point for Clark, the two can finally catch up on the one year that separated them. However, despite the long route of 362 miles between the two cities, the two had been a constant for each other. This is quite evident in their continuous social media posts. There is no question that if Caitlin Clark joins the Fever, McCaffery is going to be the happiest of all, both as the biggest fan and her partner.

Now that we know how their relationship can blossom further, let us also learn how it all began.

‘It’s a love story’ for Caitlin Clark and Connor McCaffery

It has only been a few months since McCaffery boasted about his girlfriend on the social media. Remember his birthday post saying, “Golden Bday / T Swift year will be the best yet” for Clark? But that is not how the fan confessed his love to the NCAA basketball queen. In fact, it never really happened. Connor and his younger brother Patrick played together for the Hawkeyes until the 6-ft-6 McCaffery graduated in 2023.

Before that, only Caitlin Clark and Patrick were good friends. But the constant group meetings and being in the same school and playing for the same team all aligned to bring the two together.

However, if you ask Connor, he will probably reply that they were always friends, something he told the Des Moines Register. The two only came out in the public as boyfriend and girlfriend in August 2023. Caitlin Clark first broke the news by posting multiple photos of the two together on a boat. She also wrote, “Best end to summer.” The latter followed to introduce her to his Instagram profile on her birthday in January.

No matter what, we know that these two love birds are in for a long ride as both seem to be keepers. Are you excited to see them together?
