Iowa’s prominent point guard Caitlin Clark has begun her ascent to stardom. The 22-year-old became perhaps the biggest name in the realm of college basketball by surpassing Kelsey Plum’s all-time scoring record. Now, as there are talks about her entering the professional world of WNBA, people have started wondering how much is her worth as an NCAA star.

The Sporting News athlete of the year is more affluent than some of the faces of the NBA.

It is to no one’s surprise that the monetary value of Caitlin Clark has skyrocketed ever since she led Iowa to the championship game last season. Moreover, there is a back-and-forth battle between Clark and the Bayou Barbie Angel Reese. Both these stalwart athletes have been ruling the NIL sphere after their epic showdown in the NCAA Finals. If we talk about Caitlin she managed to be among the top 100 NIL personalities by occupying the 40th spot. More importantly, her current annual NIL valuation of $818K makes her the fourth richest women college basketball player.

As a matter of fact, these numbers leave some of the well-known NBA players behind. Seemingly, athletes such as Jordan Miller of the LA Clippers and  Minnesota’s shooting guard Jaylen Clark are reportedly earning much less than this 6ft Hawkeye from Des Moines, Iowa. It is only a matter of time before she gives some of the other major big guns of the professional leagues a run for their money in the NIL race.

Interestingly, last year, she succeeded in scripting history in the NIL world as well.

The reigning national player of the year has been turning quite a few heads with her off-court decisions. Apparently, Caitlin Clark became the first college basketball player to associate herself with State Farm. After associating themselves with some of the familiar names like Patrick Mahomes and Chris Paul, the popular insurance group made this out-of-the-box thinking to include a young face like Caitlin. Consequently, she has been actively taking part in its commercials, social media advertisements and events.

It is difficult to keep an entity like Caitlin Clark out of the news. No matter whether she is on the court or off it, she knows how to headline herself. The impact that this young college basketball player has been able to create will be difficult for the current as well as the future generations to match.
