The buzz around Hanna Cavinder and Carson Beck has hit a new peak. About half a year into their relationship, the two stars are to be a part of the same college program – Miami Hurricanes! They are going to be sharing the big numbers too in the NIL space. And if you thought their supporters were hyped, just take a look at Hanna.

Although Beck initially declared for the NFL Draft after a solid season with the Georgia Bulldogs, shockingly, he decided to return to college. Not only that, but within just 24 hours of entering the transfer portal, he found himself a new home – and it’s a very familiar one. On Thursday, Beck announced he’d be transferring to Miami, officially signing on Friday.

As soon as Beck confirmed his move, it was game on for his ladylove. The Miami point guard turned influencer went all-in, spamming her excitement across every social media platform. Twitter, Instagram stories, his comment section. You name it, she’s there.

And when ESPN shared one of her comments on their post, which read, “It’s a great day to be a Miami Hurricane,” she doubled down by resharing it and added a two-word message, “go canes!” If that’s not girlfriend goals.

The couple started dating in the summer of 2024, and fans first suspected something was up during the Fourth of July weekend when Hanna featured Carson in her Instagram stories. The rumors were confirmed when the quarterback casually mentioned their relationship in an interview.

Interestingly, Cavinder herself found her way back to Miami in the 2024 season after briefly stepping away from college basketball. This came after the Cavinder twins built a brand beyond the hoop world. However, her beau is also not way behind.

According to reports, he is set to earn $4 million during his final year of college eligibility. To put that in perspective, that’s more than what San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is earning ($1.004 million) and even Minnesota Vikings’ J.J. McCarthy ($3.97 million).

However, despite all this happy news, there’s one small catch. Carson and Hanna won’t get to spend time together on campus since this will be her last season of eligibility. But was girlfriend the only reason Carson Beck chose Miami?

Did Hanna Cavinder draw Carson Beck to Miami?

Social media almost believe in this theory, and Hanna could be one of the main reasons, but the truth is far more strategic.

Beck suffered a season-ending UCL injury in December during Georgia’s SEC Championship win. After undergoing surgery, he declared for the NFL Draft but soon realized the timing wasn’t ideal. Feedback suggested he’d benefit from another year in college to boost his stock.

Especially since he wouldn’t be able to throw until March – missing crucial pre-draft workouts. So, instead of risking a lower draft position, Beck made the smart move to transfer. Now, why Miami? Well, the Hurricanes just lost Heisman finalist Cam Ward to the NFL Draft.

Ward’s departure left a massive void in their offense, and Miami needed a seasoned quarterback to step in. Beck, with his impressive track record of 7,426 passing yards, 52 touchdowns, and just 18 interceptions, fits the bill perfectly. Plus, the Hurricanes are coming off a 10-win season, their best since 2017.

So, with Beck under center, Miami’s looking to make a playoff run in 2025. Miami’s need for a veteran QB and Beck’s desire to stock his draft stock couldn’t have aligned better. His accolades at Georgia speak volumes. Sure, there’s a sprinkle of romance in this story – how could there not be? But ultimately, Beck’s move is about more than just that.
