Bird took the opportunity when meeting Clark at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena to discuss the latter’s game. And a curious Bird questioned Clark about when she got her signature move- the deep threes. Clark honestly answered the question which elated Bird and gave all fans a glimpse into her journey to becoming a college basketball veteran.

“I would say I first became comfortable honestly when I got into college. I kind of came in as a little twig. The strength and conditioning program was a big help for me as I kind of got stronger, that kind of came with it a lot,” Clark remarked.

A curious Bird reconfirmed by asking “You never did this prior to college?” and Clark openly admitted to having her first brush with deep threes in college.

“No, not really. My high school gym was tiny like our high school court was small, so I had good range. I had my step back,” Clark stated.

Everyone knows that a major part of Clark’s game is three-pointers. She has been an unstoppable force in the NCAA with her go-to move. The Iowa-born currently occupies the top spot in the three-pointer list of active women’s college basketball players with 478 three-pointers.
