Turning heads with her exceptional gameplays has become a habit for the Iowa Hawkeyes star, Caitlin Clark. There was not a single match in which Clark failed to impress with her exceptional skills. In her recent highly anticipated matchup against the Michigan State Spartans, Clark once again solidified her status as one of the best hoopers in the league after she hit a game-winning shot that helped Iowa survive an upset scare against the Spartans with a final score of 76-73.
After hitting the buzzer-beater to lead the Hawkeyes to their fourteenth win of the season, Clark shared a piece of her mind in a conversation with none other than, WNBA star, Aliyah Boston.

After Caitlin Clark ended the game with a highly contested three-pointer, the WNBA player, Boston got a call to connect with the Iowa star. During the conversation, Boston asked Clark how she stayed poised in the match in the face of the Spartans lockdown defense.

To which Clark replied, “I think I struggled there, got a little hot, got a little cold, especially at the start of the 2nd half. I honestly subbed myself out of the game to get a quick breather. But you know, you just come back, you gotta let it go and you gotta respond. I think that’s where I’ve grown the most over the past two years. They played tough defense and made tough shots. Whenever we went on a run, they responded. So, my thought, this group played with a lot of poise. We didn’t do things exactly how we would’ve wanted to, but all we did was respond and got the win.”

The Lady Hawkeyes started the season with a tremendous win over the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights with the final score of 102-46, sending a message that they aren’t playing around this season. So far the ladies have played fifteen matches out of which they have won fourteen and lost one. The only upset they had to face till now was against the Kansas State Wildcats, which was also Clark’s worst shooting night.
