Angel Reese’s growing star stature and social sway isn’t always fueling her fandom. Her headline-dominating ability and the rising brand value is also creating certain resentment. But the Lady Tiger’s unapologetic attitude is shielding it all. The Bayou Barbie isn’t bothered about a bunch of haters trying to bring her down.

Having haters has become very common for athletes. And with social media, it has just become easier for haters to reach out to the stars and target them. One of their targets is the college basketball star who helped her team lift the NCAA trophy last season.

Angel Reese’s unique approach to handle haters

In a recent conversation with Law Roach of Interview magazine, the LSU star and swimsuit model shares a piece of her mindset about dealing with the haters: “I had to learn early on because I just turned 21. If you don’t have no haters, you ain’t popping.”

“And I learned to ignore by looking at all the people that are inspired by me. I don’t really pay attention to haters because they’re going to say what they want to say. I have a voice and I’m not going to stop using my voice for the people that know that I am making an impact. A lot of people come up to me in the mall when I’m out, just thanking me—older women, younger girls, younger boys. It’s knowing that I have a voice and I am speaking for people that don’t have the platform that I do,” Reese further added.
