The LSU Tigers reach the top draw of the SEC tournament. After an enticing 75-67 semi-final victory over the Rebels, the Lady Tigers will now face South Carolina in the Finals on Sunday. However, this victory could have turned sour for Angel Reese and Co. As the reigning national champions were heading towards a victory, a coast-to-coast effort from Mississippi’s Madison Scott ended adversely for LSU for their talented junior Last-Tear Poa.

Seemingly, the turnover followed by a fast break resulted in a collision of Scott with Poa, who fell on the ground immediately. Following this, she was surrounded by her teammates who were trying to help her get on her feet. Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, she was unable to walk her way out of the court and was later carried away on a stretcher with a neck brace.

After the game, Poa’s teammate and All-American forward Angel Reese posted a heartfelt message for the dynamic No.13. She posted a story of her and Poa together in LSU gear posing with a victory sign. In addition to this, there was also a heartfelt message from the Bayou Barbie. The caption in which Last-Tear Poa was tagged read, “This is for you 13. Love you BBY.”

Apparently, before getting knocked out in the fourth quarter, the Australian baller grabbed 5 points in 17 minutes against Ole Miss. Soon after the game, interviewers got a hold of head coach Kim Mulkey to further evaluate Poa’s current condition.

Is Angel Reese’s teammate okay?

Mulkey called Last-Tear Poa’s parents back in Australia after the win. Before rushing to the St. Francis Hospital, Greenville, she quickly gave answers to the group of reporters too. While talking about her player’s condition, the coach said that Poa’s scan came clean, “So that’s wonderful news.”

She also added, “The kid took quite a lick on the back of her head. I did not see it. I saw it on the film just a minute ago and I wouldn’t even look at it.” She further explained the incident to everyone and left to be with her talented player.
