The tug-of-war continued after the first half as both teams were trying to make the most of the offensive opportunities. However, it was Hawkeyes who had the momentum and started to capitalize on their home conditions. The efficiency in their field goal attempts (23 of 44) along with some accurate 3-point shooting had them in total control just before the penultimate quarter.
