Bird also added, “It’s kind of like what Magic and Bird was to men’s basketball, this moment, we kinda needed something. And Caitlin’s that moment.” Discussing what shot makes Clark special, Sue talked about her signature bucket shot Logo-3: “I think a lot of it has to do with her Logo-3.” She then imitates a random X user saying, “John529 from Twitter is like ‘Oh, women don’t dunk.’ But you can’t really talk trash on a Logo-3.”

She is certainly correct because Logo-3 is a deep shot that is made from half-court. Clearly, Caitlin Clark seems to have Sue Bird on her side among the other legends. However, Bird called out the correct focal point on why people say they don’t watch women’s sports.

What do the critics say about women’s sports?

While women’s sports are not as popular as men’s, women athletes are making some serious inroads in its promotion. Even then, some detractors dismiss the growing impact and influence of women basketball as mere optics. The apathetic analysis prevails despite Clark’s record-breaking spree. However, many posts and comments are simply defying the odds. On top of that, by getting the most viewership on most of her games now, Caitlin Clark is definitely proving the critics wrong.
