Amidst such high-profile names, another player who is making her presence felt on the hardwood is the 6 ft 7 in center–Lauren Betts. The towering athlete from Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain has turn quite a few heads this season with her extraordinary potential and skills.

After spending her freshman days at Stanford, Lauren Betts’ transfer to UCLA is turning out to be a checkmate move. The 20-year-old has been the player to watch out in the Bruins locker room this season. She has been instrumental in UCLA’s unbeaten 12-0 run in the competition so far. As a result, the Bruins are firm favorites for the Pac-12 title this season. Betts has been a valuable addition to the team this season. Apparently, she is the leading scorer for the Bruins in the competition so far. Moreover, she has stepped up and delivered against quality teams which was evident in UCLA’s Pac12 opener against USC. The explosive No. 51 scored 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to help UCLA hand the Trojans their first defeat of the season.

Betts is climbing the ladder to be among the top performers this season slowly and steadily. She has managed to maintain the best field goal percentage of 74.1 in the tournament at present. In addition to this, she is tied at the 46th position when it comes to collecting rebounds per game. Seemingly, she has a healthy rebound rate of 9.1 per game. However, she is a little behind the likes of Caitlin Clark and Paige Beuckers with an average of 16.8 and holds an 86th ranking in terms of scoring average.

Lauren Betts has had an explosive debut season for the Bruins so far. She started her campaign by delivering three 20-plus-point performances in her initial 4 games. Moreover, she has ended 6 out of her 12 games with a double-double next to her name. Her shooting efficiency is off the charts with a 76.8% accuracy. Also, she did not let her shooting percentage go below 60% in any of her games.

Lauren Betts has played a vital hand in UCLA’s contention to play in the Sweet 16 for the first time in four years. There is no denying that she is getting everybody’s money’s worth with her skills.
