How did Rori Harmon perform?

The Texas Longhorns played their season opener against the Southern Jaguars, ending with a final score of 80-35 in their favor. During this match, Harmon was on the field for 28 minutes, during which she scored eight points, secured seven rebounds, and made nine assists. Since this game, Harmon has continued to elevate her game and help the Longhorns secure back-to-back victories. 

Her standout performance in the twelve games she played was against the UCONN Huskies. In this highly anticipated matchup, Harmon went on and dropped 27 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and made 13 assists. She is leading the program in assists per game (7.8) and steals per game (3.1).

A heartbreaking injury

On Friday, during a practice session with her team, Rori Harmon tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee, which has now forced her to miss the rest of the season. In an interview with ESPN, Harmon revealed how heartbroken she is to not be able to play with her team anymore. She said, “I’m heartbroken that I won’t be able to play with my teammates this season, but I’m going to support them and be the best teammate I can be. We have big goals for this season and those are not going to change.”

Following her statement, even Coach Vic Schaefer revealed her disappointment by seeing one of his best players being sidelined. He said, “We are heartbroken for Rori. She has worked so hard to become in my opinion the best guard in the country, an All-American.”
