Senior lead in the NBA Insider for The Athletic and Stadium Shams Charania was among the first to share the news. In a post, he said, “WNBA Draft pick: The Chicago Sky selected Angel Reese at No. 7, per sources. The LSU star and 2023 NCAA champion lands in Chicago.” The ongoing WNBA draft commenced at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Monday. Moreover, the LSU star’s announcement was met with a huge crowd reception which was only second to Clark’s.

As it turns out, Reese will join her SEC adversary Kamilla Cardoso in the Chicago Sky. While the 6 ft 7 in Brazillian was the third draft pick after Caitlin Clark and Cameron Brink, Reese’s inclusion was four picks later. Nonetheless, the three-time All-American was glad to be playing alongside the 2024 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player. She said, “I’m looking forward to playing with her in practice and in games, just bouncing off of each other.”

However, Charania’s tweet is not getting all the positive reactions. As it turns out, he is on the receiving end of some critical reactions from some of Angel Reese’s fans.
