Despite not playing at their best level, the Iowa Hawkeyes are going strong in the NCAA tournament. They defeated a resilient West Virginia Mountaineers on Monday night to advance to the Sweet 16. Much of it has been possible due to the exceptional play of their star Caitlin Clark. The 22-year-old dropped 27 points in Round One against the Holy Cross Crusaders, whereas in the second round, she recorded 32 points. All this has made her the center of attention. Amid such a spotlight on her life, a childhood dream collage has surfaced online in which Clark had written her future dreams as a child.

The three most important dreams in her collage were to “Get a basketball scholarship”, “Meet Maya Moore”, and “Make it to the WNBA.” The collage surfaced online through ESPN and Clark shared the same on her Instagram story with the caption, “Just a kid living my dream,” with emotional emojis. And fans were excited to see how their favorite star had manifested a life for her.

As for her first dream, Clark received scholarships from numerous schools, including Duke, Notre Dame, Texas, and the Iowa State Cyclones. In the end, she decided to play for the Hawkeyes. When it comes to her second dream, Clark recently met the legend Maya Moore when she was about to shatter Pete Maravich’s D1 all-time scoring record.

Moore was Clark’s childhood idol, as the Minnesota Lynx was the closest WNBA team to Clark’s hometown Des Moines, Iowa. She used to travel to watch their games. Meanwhile, her third dream will be fulfilled soon as Clark is the odds-on favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft this year. And with it, she would have realized all the major dreams she had as a child.

Some of the other ‘dreams’ mentioned in the collage were similar to what most of us have. “To have three or four kids,” “To live in a huge mansion,” “To travel across the whole world,” among others.

Clark has completed her dreams with so much swagger that she has a 1.1 million following on Instagram, which is a testament to the sensation she is. And all her fans must have viewed her story to realize the power of accomplishing goals. The Hawkeyes, on the other hand, have now advanced to the Sweet 16 and will play against the Colorado.

What’s next in the tournament?

Fans would be hoping that Clark continues her on-song performances and helps her team emerge victorious once again. The Hawkeyes fans would want Clark to pave their way to glory this season, something they just missed out on last year.

Now that fans have gotten a glimpse of the power of dreams, they too would take a leaf out of Clark’s notebook and work dedicatedly to realize theirs. On the other hand, Clark would wish for more opportunities in her life and someday later may again release a list of dreams that she wrote down as a young baller and accomplished while playing in the WNBA.
