Record-breaking is nothing new for Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark. For the No. 2 Hawkeyes, she leads the nation in scoring (31.0 points per game) and is on the way to breaking the all-time scoring record. She’s progressing to become a supremely dominant player on the court, teaming up with the likes of Nike, Gatorade, State Farm, and Bose. Off the court, too, she’s definitely aspiring to multiply her NIL, inspiring many young athletes to follow in her footsteps.

With her achievements, her old basketball card is now gaining traction, especially from Alexis Ohanian.

Caitlin Clark’s 2022 Bowman U Basketball card, autographed by her, is gaining traction all across the basketball community and fans. It is a one-of-a-kind card that features the young star in her uniform, breaking records for being the most expensive card in the women’s basketball universe! The card is currently priced at $21,600, surpassing records by other card holders, including Sabrina Ionescu, whose card went up to $11,500.

And mind you, there’s still 6 more days left in the auction of that card. But what comes as a surprise is Serena William’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, sharing a glimpse of that card on his Instagram stories.

He writes, “Congrats @caitlinclark22“. He also adds, “This will be a record breaking women’s basketball card… I’ve been telling y’all“.

With six more days remaining in the auction, the record-breaking price can continue rising. In fact, per Vivid Seats, the Iowa women’s basketball is currently undergoing a significant surge in demand, with the sales price rising 162% for home and away regular games this season.

But clearly, people, including Ohanian, are fan-boying over Clark. And he’s done that on many occasions.

Sharing a glimpse of the basketball card isn’t the only instance of Ohanian fan-boying over Clark; it’s been done on multiple other occasions. The Reddit co-founder truly likes her gameplay and skills. He reshared Clark’s tweet once in March 2023, calling her a generational talent. Back when she was playing against Michigan State, she was later involved in a controversy even though she displayed her heroics. Despite the victory under he belt, and contributing 40 points in that game, she was gaining negative traction because of a mix-up between the arena clock and the broadcasting clock. People were of the view that the buzzer beater should have not counted.

Ohanian came to her rescue at that time as well, shunning people to treat Clark with some respect. He praised her performance and tried to persuade people to “put some respect on her name”.
