UConn Star Azzi Fudd Gives ‘Hopeful’ Injury Update While Bidding Goodbye to a Distressful 2023

The world skipped a heartbeat when they heard that the UConn Huskies guard, Azzi Fudd will be getting sidelined from the remainder of the season due to an injury she suffered during a practice session. The star guard tore her medial meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee when she was landing from a jump shot, which has forced her to be in recovery for the rest of the ongoing NCAA season. 

As the 2023 year wraps up, Fudd shares a heartfelt message with her 239K fans, leaving the basketball community in awe.

It has been a month since Fudd has been sidelined from the matches to recover from an heartbreaking injury. Recently, the UConn Huskies star guard, Azzi Fudd shared a hopeful update on her injury while saying goodbye to 2023.

The UConn Huskies were having one of their most successful careers with Fudd. She was averaging 11 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. But in a drastic change of events, during a practice session with her team in early November, Azzi Fudd took a jump shot, completely unaware this shot would be a life-changing moment for her. As she landed, she tore her medial meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in the left leg.

In an interview with News 18, head coach Geno Auriemma said, “We’re all just so upset for Azzi. She worked hard to be healthy for this season, and it’s unfortunate when you put in a lot of hard work and have a setback like this.”
