There, he played a pivotal role in helping Link Academy clinch the GEICO Nationals championship. Cadeau set a new record for the highest number of assists in its storied history. His astounding feat of 29 assists unfolded over the course of just three games.

Cadeau’s talent is undeniable, and it’s no surprise that he’s the 12th overall recruit in the class of 2023, as per the 247 Composite rankings. Cadeau’s move to UNC has given him the chance to shine on a greater stage, leaving Tar Heels fans eager for his debut.
Most recently, the 19-year-old gave the public a view of his basketball prowess during North Carolina’s first public scrimmage, stealing the spotlight.
Fans were treated to a preview of the team’s potential this season at the “Live Action with Carolina Basketball” showcase before the team’s exhibition game against St. Augustine’s on October 27 and its regular-season opener against Radford on November 6 both taking place in Chapel Hill.

Freshman guard Elliot Cadeau was a standout performer for the Blue team as he assumed the primary facilitator role. Notable players on this team included James Okonkwo, Paxson Wojcik, Jae’Lyn Withers, and Armando Bacot. However, Cadeau stood out, leading his teammates with authority and exuding confidence while doing so. He opened the game with a pull-up jumper near the elbow barely 30 seconds into the scrimmage, establishing his role as a prolific scorer.
Cadeau further dazzled the crowd with a deft layup and back-to-back three-pointers in the final two minutes. He managed to impress both UNC fans and critics alike with his performance in this scrimmage. He has unquestionably emerged as a player to watch. Expectations have increased for his participation in the team’s success in the forthcoming season due to his skill set and the chemistry he showed with his teammates during the scrimmage.
