Who Is Micah Handlogten’s Father?

Benjamin Handlogten is the father of Micah Handlogten. According to his LinkedIn profile, Handlogten has been a Project Manager for Pfaff Molds for the last 9+ years, but he is a former NBA player. Ben was a 6-10 center from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who went on to score 1,167 points and grab 833 rebounds at Western Michigan, where he finished in 1996 and took off on a nine-year professional career with stops in Turkey, Italy, and Greece. 

Ben finally got his NBA dream in 2003, when he signed with the Utah Jazz as a free agent. Playing for the Jazz, he appeared in 38 games and made five starts over the course of the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. In his debut year, he averaged 4.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.4 assists over 17 games. After his NBA stint, which included being traded to the Phoenix Suns and subsequently waived, he rejoined the Utah Jazz, playing in 21 games.

Following his retirement, Ben transitioned into the business world in 2007, settling in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. He now works as a Project Manager for Pfaff Molds, demonstrating a remarkable ability to reinvent himself beyond basketball. Micah’s father played an important role in the Florida star foregoing the medical redshirt earlier this year. 

“My dad has been, like, really instrumental in helping me, like, get through this, and so he was always like, by my side whenever we were making, like, the decision, I was talking to him about, weighing the pros and cons about it,” Micah said. His father has played an important role in Micah’s successful career so far.

Who is Micah Handlogten’s mother?

Micah Handlogten’s mother is Danielle Handlogten. Her X account bio reads, Mom of 4, Teacher, Book Addict, History Buff, Christ Follower “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3,” reflecting on her strong religious beliefs. According to her LinkedIn profile, Danielle works as a Summer Education Online Coordinator at the Southlake Christian Academy.

Danielle graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation & Gerontology from Western Michigan University and did her master’s in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of Phoenix. Apart from her work, Danielle actively supports her son in his basketball journey. 

Danielle was devastated after seeing Micah being rushed to the hospital after his on-court injury. Before Danielle even realized what had happened, her husband was already sprinting down the arena steps and onto the court. She quickly followed, bending down to plant a heartfelt kiss on her son in a poignant moment of love.

“You can’t be here now, Mom,” Micah said. “You can’t see this.”Danielle, along with the family, was worried throughout the process. “There was a time where we didn’t know if Micah would walk again,” Danielle said. “You can only imagine the emotional roller coaster we’ve been on.” That was during the lows of Micah’s career, when he returned on the court 11 months later, Danielle called her son with tears of joy. 

Does Micah Handlogten have any siblings?

Micah has two sisters named Hailey and Mia. There is not much information about Micah’s siblings, but the family appears close-knit. Hailey, though, is socially active. She recently posted, “We are so thankful to be a part of the Gator family! Micah’s surgery went well and we are expecting a full recovery. Micah is eager to get back on the court and motivated for the journey ahead.”

After Micah decided to come back on the court, 11 months after his leg injury, he revealed that his sisters called him in excitement about his return. “My sisters, they FaceTimed me screaming like, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it!’. So they all got tickets to the game, like, driving up tonight.” He said.
