Pilar Sanders recently watched her kids settle a three-year basketball beef. Deion Sanders has his own system for ranking his favorite child, and right now, Shelomi seems to hold the top spot. But this time, it wasn’t Deion who found himself in the middle of the family shenanigans. Instead, Pilar Sanders landed directly in the crossfire as Shilo and Shelomi turned the heat up on the basketball court. After a long-standing debate, is the former Colorado safety better at basketball than his sister, Shelomi?

Shelomi arrived at Shilo’s house in Miami with her mother to finally settle the beef. Shelomi had beaten Shilo three years ago in Colorado, though Shilo later claimed he let her win to build her confidence. In between, Shelomi even dropped a diss video, arguing that she could beat her brother in several sports, including table tennis. Pilar was the only spectator of this match and was rather excited.

“So, for me, it was more of me seeing Shilo and Shelomi just, you know, embracing the family dynamic together on the court,” Pilar said on the video posted on Shilo’s YouTube channel. “I love seeing them play together. They used to do that when they were little. They even played basketball on roller skates and rollerblades.”

Both siblings desperately wanted their mother on their side as the competition began to heat up. The game quickly turned physical, with fouls flying from the very start, forcing Pilar to step in, “Don’t make me look bad. Either one of you,” said Pilar.

But as the match continued, the intensity only grew, turning the family showdown into something that looked no less than an NBA battle. After Shilo hit his third basket, the trash talk erupted. Shelomi wasn’t happy when she saw her mother laughing.

“I can’t. He was shaking me. What am I supposed to do? She’s so mad at me right now,” Pilar said, trying to defuse the situation. “That was funny. That was a good shot. It was a good cross between the legs and then a layup.”

In the very next moment, Pilar quickly switched sides, stepping in to hype up her daughter. “That’s you, B. Come on, B. Give him something. Give him the shuffle ball change. Oh, oh, she did the fake around. She did the fake around spin and turn. All right. They both had um a good play on each other. That’s a one for one. I’ll tell you that,” said the impressed mother.

Pilar’s equation with her kids

Deion married Pilar in 1999 and had three kids together: Shilo, Shedeur, and Shelomi Sanders. Despite a very messy and public divorce between the two, both parents have maintained a healthy relationship with their kids. We all know Deion is always supporting his kids through their sports journey, but Pilar has always been on the stands cheering loudly for her kids.

Back in 2015, Pilar found herself at the center of a public dispute when Deion reportedly kicked Shilo and Shedeur out of his house on Christmas. The reason? Pilar had taken the boys to get their ears pierced, defying Deion’s rules. When the boys took to social media to vent their frustrations, Pilar stood firmly in their corner.

Pilar has attended games on multiple occasions and consistently shown her support from the stands, emerging as one of the biggest supporters of the Bulls. The mother of two NFL players has taken it to Instagram, dropping hashtags like #Shedeur4Heisman and calling him “LEGENDARY,” many times depicting a proud mama bear. When Shilo suffered a fracture in 2024, Pilar was right by his side, guiding him through it all.

Don’t think Pilar’s support is just for her sons — she rides just as hard for her daughter. When Shelomi made the tough call to leave Coach Prime’s program and transfer to Alabama A&M, Pilar stood by her every step of the way. However, it wasn’t an easy decision. Her father called it ‘stupid’, but Pilar saw it differently. And she knew Shelomi was taking control of her own future.
