The Crimson Tide was locked in a nail-biter with the Gamecocks, trading blows back and forth and hearts racing with each snap. Just when it looked like South Carolina might steal this win, Germie Bernard came through with two jaw-dropping touchdowns in the closing few minutes to secure a 29-22 victory. The stadium roared as Alabama pulled off yet another epic comeback. In the midst of all this excitement, Alabama fans caught up with some news with the AD, Greg Byrne, on X about the “Yea Alabama,” the school’s NIL collective.

Greg wrote in his X post, “Our goal is 50,000 @yea_ala members! As little as $5 per month for digital access. Part of our long term plan for@UA_Athletics! #RollTide.” With new features launching on September 30, Yea Alabama has been shaking things up by reducing its five-tier membership into just two options: the $5 “Rookie” and $25 “Veteran” levels. At $5 a month and with a goal of 50,000 members, that’s a potential $250K in steady NIL funding every month. This would serve as a fixed stream that could make a huge difference for Alabama’s student-athletes.

Doug Killough, Yea Alabama’s Director of Marketing and Membership, stated, “By lowering the cost, we are making Yea Alabama more accessible, which will allow more fans to get involved and be part of this greater commitment to our student-athletes.” This is part of Alabama’s long legacy of uniting fans over shared pride and history. The phrase “Yea Alabama” itself originates from the team’s 1926 Rose Bowl triumph, when Ethelred Lundy Sykes wrote the battle song that continues to play throughout the stadium. That song has become ingrained in Alabama culture over decades, and the phrase “Roll Tide!” has become the ultimate representation of Crimson Tide pride, appearing at the conclusion of the song and anywhere fans assemble.
Talking about game-day excitement, Germie Bernard’s heroics on the field are impossible to ignore. Ryan Grubb expressed it perfectly when he said, “He was just an absolute monster tonight.” Fans got a glimpse of why the embedded image in Yea Alabama’s post calls him “UNC to teammates and fans, but an ABSOLUTE MONSTER to opposing teams.” The phrase “RINSE & REPEAT” from the post is also a promise that Bernard and Alabama are expected to keep dominating in crucial moments.

Crimson Tide’s trust in Bernard pays off big time
Saturday’s game in Columbia was all the chaos and heart Alabama fans could ask for. The senior WR had already been battling all night, and when the Tide needed a miracle, he delivered two touchdowns and a 25-yard Wildcat run to seal a win. “First and foremost that got it say how great God is man and how grateful I am to be able to just be victorious for my brothers and just be able to play the game we love. We’ve been reaping that play all throughout the week. Co Grub said he would call it in a crucial moment and he called it and we just had to execute,” Bernard said after the game, pouring in gratitude for the win.
What made it even better was the coaching staff’s belief in him. With the game on the line, this was a direct snap to a wide receiver rather than a quarterback sneak or a safe handoff. Bernard just raced through the opening and into the end zone without hesitation. That confidence came from Kalen DeBoer and Ryan Grubb’s “green light” signal. DeBoer said afterward, “The world you’ve seen us every week have different things that we do where he’s lined up in a wildcat and getting him out of the backfield, throwing him the ball double pass opportunities…You give them the opportunities as much as possible and critical moments to go make place for you.”
For Bernard, this was a standout moment. His performance on Saturday solidified his status as one of the Tide’s most reliable weapons. The way he ran, the composure he showed, and the joy he carried after all radiated leadership. With DeBoer saying, “We got all the trust in the world,” Bernard fans know that Alabama’s offense is rediscovering its identity. Bernard said that they had been “repping that play all week,” and when the time came, they delivered a clutch performance. It’s the type of moment that perfectly combines bold play-calling and Crimson Tide drive to define a season and maybe even a legacy.
