For Trent Seaborn, committing to Alabama has to be the best thing that ever happened to him. Growing up in Alabaster as a Crimson Tide fan, he spent years dreaming of playing in Tuscaloosa. After nearly committing elsewhere following Saban’s exit from the program, the four-star quarterback is now on a mission to bring his talented teammates along for the ride.

One of his top priorities is convincing his Thompson High School teammate, 2027 safety Junior James, to join him in Tuscaloosa. So far, the Alabama native has impressed with his recruiting efforts. Seaborn’s pitch to James is simple and heartfelt:

“His pitch was it being his dream. He talks about how fun it’d be having us both playing at Bama.”

Junior James is currently ranked as a 4-star safety per ESPN and part of ESPN’s top-100 junior players. He was blown away during his recent visit to Alabama in January. According to insiders, he’s planning to return for an official visit this summer.

What makes Seaborn’s approach so unique is his total lack of ego. Most high-profile quarterbacks don’t want other top QBs in their same recruiting class. But Trent is ready to go head-to-head with the nation’s No. 1 QB, Elijah Haven. He’s super confident in his own game and just wants the best players possible around him. His statistics scream next great Bama QB. He hit the milestone of 10,000 career passing yards and threw 103 touchdowns at Thompson High.

Trent is already a four-star recruit and a top-10 pocket passer nationally for the 2027 class. He’s been named a MaxPreps All-American for three years straight now. And with one more high school season left in 2026, he’s on track to finish as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in Alabama high school history.

Right now, the wind is all on the Tide’s side. With Seaborn acting as the special agent, Alabama is currently outpacing Auburn and LSU for the top 2027 talent in the region. If they land Junior James in the coming months or so, you can credit Trent Seaborn for doing the heavy lifting to keep that Thompson-to-Tuscaloosa pipeline wide open.

Coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff have fully embraced Seaborn as their “assistant recruiter.” He is at almost every big home game, hanging out with uncommitted stars and showing them what the new era of Alabama football looks like.

Let’s take a look at the rest of the guys who are under Trent Seaborn’s recruiting surveillance.

Trent Seaborn’s recruiting reach

Outside of Elijah Haven and Junior James, his next biggest target is WR Monshun Sales. The No. 1 WR from the class of 2027 has been a fan of the Crimson Tide since he was a kid. Some insiders consider Alabama the frontrunner to land him. The Rivals prediction models gave Bama over an 85% chance to get his commitment. He recently narrowed his list to a top 4 that includes Alabama, Indiana, Miami, and Ohio State.

Right now, Trent is leading a 2027 group that’s already looking scary. He’s already helped lock in guys like edge rusher Jabarrius Garror and cornerback Nash Johnson III.

He’s also been seen hanging out with 2026 stars like running back Ezavier Crowell and receiver Cederian Morgan. It’s all to make sure the chemistry is ready to go the second he steps on campus. He even decided to stay back and not take any more OV trips. By merely recognizing the pattern, Seaborn wants a stacked roster. He wants everything in place when he finally takes over as the Tide’s QB1 in the next year or two.
